Ventilation
Often overlooked, but critical to the entire sauna experience. Poor airflow leads to stale, oxygen-depleted air—causing that heavy, lightheaded, or suffocating feeling many people assume is “normal.” Proper ventilation keeps fresh air circulating, balances heat, and makes the sauna feel cleaner, more comfortable, and easier to stay in longer.
Heating
It’s not just about having a heater—it’s about correct sizing and smart placement. Whether electric or wood-fired, an improperly positioned or undersized heater creates uneven temperatures, wasted energy, and the classic “hot head, cold feet” problem. Optimised heating delivers consistent, enveloping warmth from floor to ceiling.
Benches
Bench design directly impacts how heat is experienced. Poor placement limits access to the best heat zones, while outdated layouts reduce comfort and capacity. Upgraded bench configurations maximise usable space, improve ergonomics, and allow bathers to fully benefit from the sauna’s heat gradients.

Set up by the team that runs the Orchard Sauna in Bristol, where we have been operating two commercial Saunas and have obsessed over the tiny details for tens of thousands of Sauna goers.
